Oil on canvas
The technique of my longest-running series: figure, color and symbolic weight.
The 6 pieces in this technique are in private collections. I can create one for you: tell me what you have in mind.
How do I work with oil?
Oil allows the work to be built slowly, layer by layer, letting the color, texture and matter evolve during the process. Its drying time allows going back over the painting, refining it and working each element until finding the sought balance.
It is the technique of Flamencas, which explores the world of flamenco: the strength and fragility of the female figure, the movement of the dress and the symbolic weight of its elements. Given its presence and format possibilities, oil on canvas is especially suited to works meant to hold a leading place within a space.
When a commission requires a large-format piece, the process begins with a conversation about the space, the intention and the characteristics of the work. From there I develop composition proposals before starting to work on the canvas.
