About this piece
More than a portrait, this piece explores the instant when a presence begins to emerge from the gesture. The layers of oil, applied with palette knife and brush, let the matter build the face intuitively, between energetic strokes and spaces of silence. The figure never fully reveals itself: it changes with the light, with the distance and with the gaze of whoever looks at it. Shown in the group exhibition Ethereal Beauty at The Fusion Art Gallery, in Villa El Martinete, Marbella.
