Ink drawing
Direct stroke, gesture and spontaneity. Ink drawing aims to keep the essence of a scene, with no more elements than necessary.
The 17 pieces in this technique are in private collections. I can create one for you: tell me what you have in mind.
Why ink drawing?
Ink is a direct technique: there are no layers or corrections, only a stroke that works or does not. I use it to capture what is fleeting, what happens in an instant and deserves to stay on paper.
Line and Place are quick sketches made during visits to different places, capturing their architecture, details and atmosphere in a few strokes, on A4 notebook cardstock. Anatomy of the Wind gathers notes born from winter days and the swell, with various inks on A4 recycled paper hand-dyed with natural onion dyes by El Barco de Papel, in Argentina. Ink 2025 grew out of a daily drawing challenge during October: one illustration each day from a single word.
They are small pieces with a loose stroke that work especially well in entryways, hallways, bedrooms, reading corners or studies. They can also form small compositions in living rooms, passage areas or walls where other works already live. Three or four together create a group with more presence than a single one.
