About this piece
More than portraying Miles Davis, this piece seeks to transfer the intensity of his music to the canvas. The layers of oil, worked with palette knife and brush, turn the rhythm of jazz into texture, contrast and movement, letting the figure emerge from the matter spontaneously. The relief and the force of the gesture make the painting change with the light and the gaze.
